...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM FRIDAY TO 6 PM CST
SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Snow will begin mid to late
Friday afternoon and continue through Friday evening before
mixing with sleet and freezing rain late Friday night. A lull in
precipitation is expected Saturday morning before a strong cold
front brings rapidly falling temperatures, scattered snow
showers or squalls, and strong westerly winds gusts up to 45 mph
Saturday afternoon. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches
and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch possible.
Nearly all of the accumulation will occur by daybreak Saturday.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois.
* WHEN...From 2 PM Friday to 6 PM CST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
