This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Fog Risk this morning.
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk this morning.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk Porter County Indiana tonight.

DISCUSSION...

Dense fog, mainly along and south of I-80, will continue
through mid to late morning. Some pockets of dense fog are
also possible north this morning.

Freezing drizzle will occur across a portion of the area north
of I-80 this morning, especially away from the lake. This will
likely cause minor icing and hazardous travel during a portion
of the morning commute.

Gusty northwest winds will result in at least minor lakeshore
flooding along the Porter County Indiana shore tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk Porter County Indiana.
Friday Night...
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
Saturday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk for northwest Indiana.
Sunday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk for northwest Indiana.
Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A strong weather system will affect the area late Friday, Friday
night, and Saturday. On late Friday into Friday night, a mix of
precipitation types is expected. This includes the potential for
accumulating snow and some ice. On Saturday, light wintry
precipitation is possible, along with gusty winds. It is still
a bit too early for specific forecast snow and ice amounts with
this system. However, there is decent confidence that a well
organized system will affect the area during this time and cause
some travel impacts, with the highest confidence at this time in
northern Illinois on Friday night.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
