Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk Porter County Indiana.

DISCUSSION...

Gusty northwest winds will result in at least minor lakeshore
flooding along the Porter County Indiana shore tonight.

Winds chills below zero are expected for portions of north-
central Illinois late tonight.

DISCUSSION:

Confidence continues to increase that a strong weather system
will affect the area late Friday afternoon through Saturday, with
the highest potential impacts Friday night. Snow will transition
to rain from south to north Friday night, with a period of sleet
and freezing rain Friday evening mainly south. Several inches of
accumulating snow is possible north of I-80, while a couple inches
of snow and some ice accumulation is possible south of I-80.

On Saturday, light wintry precipitation is possible, along with
strong and gusty west winds. These winds will lead to potential
lakeshore flooding for portions of northwest Indiana.

The coldest air mass of the season will affect the region
Saturday night into Tuesday, with sub-zero wind chills likely
through much of the period.
