This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Ice accumulation Risk.
Elevated Snow and sleet Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk northeast Illinois tonight.

DISCUSSION...

Snow is expected to spread across the area from southwest to
northeast this afternoon. This snow will begin to mix with sleet
and freezing rain from south to north during the evening and is
expected to change to all rain for areas along and south of
Interstate 80 by Saturday morning, with a wintry mix still
possible across far northern Illinois.

Strong southeast winds will develop this evening and continue
overnight which may lead to minor lakeshore flooding, mainly
along the Lake County Illinois shoreline.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk Saturday night.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk northwest Indiana at night.
Sunday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk northwest Indiana.
Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Strong westerly winds may gust as high as 40 mph to 45 mph
Saturday into Saturday evening.

As colder air spreads across the area Saturday afternoon, there
is a chance for patchy freezing drizzle and then snow showers as
well as the potential for blowing snow in open areas across
north central Illinois.

Wind chill values may drop as low as -15 to -20 Sunday morning.

The strong westerly winds may lead to minor lakeshore flooding,
mainly along the northwest Indiana shoreline Saturday night and
Sunday.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
