This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Significant Fog Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Dense fog is expected to persist into this evening, mainly for
locales near and north of I-80. Visibilities will routinely be
below one half mile.
Rain is expected to re-develop, and will eventually change to
snow from west to east through the evening hours. The snowfall
will trend towards a moderate intensity, and at times may be
heavy, with the steadiest snowfall expected overnight tonight and
persisting into the mid-morning hours on Saturday. The highest
snowfall amounts are expected away from the lake, and near and
east of the I-39 corridor north of I-80.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday...
Elevated Snow Risk, mainly in the morning.
DISCUSSION:
Moderate snowfall may linger into the mid-morning hours on
Saturday, but snowfall intensities are expected to gradually ease
through the rest of the day. Additional light accumulations will
be possible before snow ends.
