...Risk for Patchy Freezing Drizzle Tonight...
For portions of northwest, north central and interior northeast
Illinois tonight, including the Rockford area and the far west and
northwest Chicago suburbs, there is some risk for freezing drizzle
tonight. The risk for freezing drizzle would start during the mid
to late evening and continue into the overnight hours, with
duration depending on how long temperatures stay at or just below
freezing. Temperatures are expected to slowly rise overnight into
Tuesday morning, which would then end the risk for freezing
drizzle.
If freezing drizzle occurs tonight, then slick spots will be
possible on roadways, especially elevated surfaces, and untreated
or less heavily traveled roads. Motorists are advised to stay
tuned to the latest forecast updates this evening, and be prepared
for the possibility of travel impacts into early Tuesday.
