…Blowing Snow This Afternoon and Evening…
A cold front will move across the area and will provide a period of scattered light snow showers this afternoon into this evening. Additionally, northwest winds will quickly increase by early afternoon, with gusts of 35 to 40 mph expected to produce some blowing and drifting snow across open areas of north central and northeast Illinois. If driving, allow extra travel time and be alert for snow covered roads and periodic reduced visibility. </pre>
