…Areas of Blowing and Drifting Snow Likely This Afternoon and Tonight…

Westerly wind gusts will increase to 25 to 35 mph this afternoon and evening. Given the fresh dry snow cover, blowing and drifting snow will develop in open areas that could significantly reduce visibility. It is possible even ground blizzard conditions develop with less than one quarter mile visibility in favored open, rural locations.

Allow extra travel time and keep a safe following distance from the vehicle in front of you, as roads could become snow covered from the blowing snow and visibility could sharply change. </pre>
