This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Excessive cold Risk.  Significant Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Lake effect snow showers, some heavy, will occur across far northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana today. Accumulation of several inches is likely under the heaviest showers, which will result in at least temporary hazardous travel.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.

Monday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

Tuesday…

Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.  Elevated Snow and sleet Risk.

Thursday and Friday…

Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.

Saturday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A storm system on Tuesday will bring a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to parts of the area on Tuesday. Snow and freezing drizzle are likely with this system on Tuesday night.
