Elevated Excessive cold Risk. Limited Ice accumulation Risk this evening northwest Indiana. Elevated Snow Risk this evening.
DISCUSSION…
A period of moderate snow will affect northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana this evening. Accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible, with poor visibility in falling snow. Blowing and drifting of snow is also likely this evening especially in open areas.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesday and Wednesday…
Extreme Excessive Cold Risk.
Thursday…
Extreme Excessive Cold Risk. Limited Snow Risk.
Friday…
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A period of extreme bitterly cold weather will affect the region Tuesday through Thursday. Nighttime low temperatures of 20 to 30 below zero are expected Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Daytime temperatures will remain below zero Wednesday and will struggle to get above zero Thursday. Coldest wind chills will range from 40 to 55 below zero Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
