This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Excessive Cold Risk late tonight.  Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.  Limited Ice Accumulation Risk today.  Significant Snow Risk this morning.

DISCUSSION…

Widespread heavy snow at daybreak will taper through the morning  from west to east. Some locations also may see some light freezing  drizzle today. Gusty winds early this morning and this afternoon  may produce areas of blowing snow. By early Tuesday morning, wind  chills in portions of north central Illinois will drop to around 20  degrees below zero.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday…

Extreme Excessive Cold Risk.  Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.  Limited Blowing Snow Risk.

Wednesday and Thursday…

Extreme Excessive Cold Risk.

Friday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Northwest portions of the outlook area likely will need a wind  chill advisory Tuesday for values below minus 20, while the  entire area will need a wind chill warning beginning Tuesday  night and continuing through at least noon on Thursday. Wind  chill values from 30 to 50 below zero are expected during this  period.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
