DISCUSSION:
A fast moving system could produce up to an inch of snow south of I-80 on Thursday.
A winter storm will likely produce widespread snow accumulations Friday night through Saturday, some potentially significant. Strong winds on Saturday could cause blowing and drifting snow. This will likely be followed by a period of lake effect snow into parts of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana Saturday night into Sunday that could be at least briefly heavy.
Bitterly cold temperatures and wind chills can be expected Saturday night through early Monday, especially away from Lake Michigan.
