DISCUSSION…
Accumulating snow will continue area wide this morning then gradually taper from the west this afternoon. Strong northeast to north winds will result in blowing and drifting of snow. This afternoon, lake effect snow showers are expected to develop and move into portions of northeast Illinois through this evening. Temperatures are expected to fall into the teens and single digits tonight, with near zero or sub zero wind chill values.
Finally, high waves are expected along the shores of Lake Michigan, and may result in minor lake shore flooding.

Lake effect snow showers will continue across portions of northeastern Illinois and northwest Indiana Sunday. A colder pattern sets up across the region, and several days in the upcoming week will see single digit or sub zero lows.
