This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Ice accumulation Risk.  Limited Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Light freezing drizzle will transition to snow with the main precipitation south of Interstate 80. Accumulations under 2 inches are expected south of US Highway 24, and significantly less farther north.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.

Friday night…

Significant Snow Risk.

Saturday and Sunday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.  Elevated Snow Risk.

Monday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Accumulating snow is likely Friday night into Saturday with several inches of accumulation likely. Lake effect snow showers will continue into Sunday with additional accumulations possible near the lake. Wind chill readings will drop to the single digits to teens below zero later Saturday and Sunday.
