This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.  Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Snow will overspread northern Illinois and northwest Indiana through the remainder of the afternoon and early evening and continue through tonight. A few inches are possible, with highest amounts expected south of a Mendota to Rensselaer line.

The threat for localized ice jam flooding will continue on area rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.

Friday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

Saturday…

Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.

Wednesday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There is a chance of freezing drizzle starting Saturday afternoon or evening and continuing Saturday night. The combination of warming temperatures, snowmelt, and additional rainfall raises the threat for breakup ice jams and river rises early next week.
