WHAT…Freezing drizzle this morning changing to light snow by this afternoon. Winds increasing this afternoon and evening, gusting over 40 mph at times. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible.
WHERE…Lake IL and McHenry Counties.
WHEN…This morning through this evening.
IMPACTS…Strong westerly winds are expected to develop this afternoon and continue tonight. These strong winds will increase the threat of power outages, especially for areas that saw more significant ice accumulation. Wind whipped snow showers may significantly reduce visibility.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
