This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Following the passage of a strong cold front last night, an area of cold arctic high pressure is building across the region. Wind chills of 5 to 15 below will be in place west of the I-55 corridor tonight.

In addition, flooding will continue on portions of the Illinois, Kankakee, and Kishwaukee rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.  Limited Snow Risk.

Sunday…

Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Light snow will overspread the region late Saturday night and continue through the day Sunday. There is a chance for some light snow or light Lake Effect snow showers to linger through Sunday night and into Monday. Light accumulations are expected area-wide.

In addition, flooding will continue on portions of the Illinois, Kankakee, and Kishwaukee rivers.
