This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Ice accumulation Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Freezing rain will develop overnight and transition to rain  Saturday morning. There could be a brief period of ice  accumulation, especially in areas north of I-80 and northwest  of I-55. Areas northwest of a line from Ogle to McHenry  counties are expected to see the most accumulation.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.  Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.

Sunday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.  Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

Monday through Thursday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Freezing rain is possible early Saturday, then there is a  chance of thunderstorms toward evening. Very strong and  potentially damaging non-thunderstorm winds are expected  Sunday.
