DISCUSSION…
Freezing rain will develop overnight and transition to rain Saturday morning. There could be a brief period of ice accumulation, especially in areas north of I-80 and northwest of I-55. Areas northwest of a line from Ogle to McHenry counties are expected to see the most accumulation.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk. Elevated Non-Thunderstorm Wind Risk late Saturday night. Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk early Saturday morning.
Sunday…
Limited Excessive Cold Risk. Elevated Non-Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Monday and Tuesday…
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Some lingering light freezing rain is possible early Saturday morning near the Wisconsin border.
Very strong and, potentially, damaging non-thunderstorm winds are expected early Sunday morning into Sunday evening.
