This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected…
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk. Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk. Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Lingering freezing rain or light snow over northern Illinois will end around sunset. Rapidly falling temperatures will likely lead to freezing of moisture on untreated surfaces, especially over portions of north central and far northern Illinois. Strong westerly winds through this early overnight will gust up to 45 to 50 mph. This could cause power outages due to ice covered tree limbs and power lines being downed over portions of north central and far northern Illinois. Wind chills will drop to 10 to 20 below zero late tonight.
River flooding will continue along portions of area rivers, along with the potential for ice jam flooding.

Elevated Excessive Cold Risk in the morning. Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Saturday…
Limited Excessive Cold Risk in the morning.
Sunday and Monday night…

DISCUSSION:
Wind chills of 10 to 20 below zero will occur Friday morning. Light snow accumulations are likely on Sunday. Another round of accumulating wintry precipitation is possible Monday night into Tuesday.
River flooding will continue along portions of area rivers, along with the potential for ice jam flooding.
