This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:     Limited hail risk...up to quarter size.     Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.  Elevated Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION…

An isolated thunderstorm or two is possible this afternoon and evening, but the greatest chance for thunderstorms will be late tonight into the predawn hours Saturday. Damaging winds and hail will be the main threat with thunderstorms overnight, mainly west of a line from Sublette through Woodstock. In addition, heavy rainfall may occur in some of the storms and could lead to localized flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Elevated Flooding Risk.

Sunday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.

Monday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Tuesday…

Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Wednesday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Thursday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A period of unsettled weather is setting up for the weekend and into next week. Warm and humid conditions are expected with periodic chances for thunderstorms. For the weekend, there is a chance that some of the stronger storms may be severe, with strong winds and large hail being the primary severe threats.

Also, locally rainfall may occur in some of the storms and could lead to flooding on Saturday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotters may be needed overnight.
