This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Elevated Damaging Wind Risk...up to 65 MPH. Limited Hail Risk...up to Nickel Size. Limited Tornado Risk.
Elevated Flooding Risk. Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Thunderstorms are expected this morning, primarily along and north of the I-88 corridor. Severe weather is not expected with these storms, though some could produce gusty winds to 45 mph. Additional thunderstorms are likely to develop this afternoon after 2 pm across portions of northern IL to the south of areas impacted by this morning's storms. Thunderstorms this afternoon could be severe, with damaging wind gusts being the primary severe threat. Very heavy rainfall will also likely accompany these storms, and this could result in a flash flooding threat across portions of eastern Illinois and northwestern Indiana along and south of I-80 into this evening.

DISCUSSION:
Another round of strong to severe storms and heavy rain will be possible Tuesday, mainly south of Interstate 80.
