This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Significant Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Excessive heat Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Scattered thunderstorms are possible along and south of I-80 this morning, and once again this afternoon and evening. The threat of severe weather is low, though a few stronger storms are possible, especially this afternoon and evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday.

Sunday…

Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.

Monday…

Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Tuesday…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Wednesday through Friday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Hot and humid conditions are expected early next week with heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees possible Sunday and Monday. In addition, there are periodic chances for thunderstorms, with severe storms possible Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening across much of the outlook area.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east northeast at 30 to 40 MPH.
