Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Elevated Tornado risk. Limited Flooding Risk. High Swim Risk
DISCUSSION…
A wave of showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy downpours, will move across the outlook area this morning into the early to mid afternoon.
Behind this activity, additional isolated to scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop this afternoon from northwest Illinois arcing southeast to portions of east central Illinois. Conditions could become favorable for a couple of these storms to potentially become tornadic from late this afternoon until around sunset. The greatest risk of severe weather is south and west of a line from Dixon to Joliet to Fowler Indiana.
