This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk north late tonight.  Elevated Excessive heat Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Heat indices from 100 to 105 degrees will continue into the early evening for areas along and south of I-88.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible late tonight mainly for far northern Illinois.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday…

Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Elevated Flooding Risk.  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.

Wednesday…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.  High Swim Risk

Friday…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.

Saturday and Sunday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Severe thunderstorms are possible beginning late Tuesday afternoon in northwest Illinois and continuing into Tuesday evening for areas west of I-55 and a small portion of northwest Indiana. Strong winds are the primary concern at this time. These storms also could produce locally heavy rain Tuesday evening into the overnight hours.

Hot and humid conditions are likely again Tuesday, with max heat indices around 100 degrees for much of the outlook area.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east at 15 to 20 mph.
