This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk  High Swim Risk

DISCUSSION…

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms are likely today over much of the area, with the thunderstorm threat continuing into this evening over the Chicago metropolitan area into northwest Indiana. Some of the storms will likely produce very heavy downpours which could lead to some localized minor flooding.

Also, large, battering waves are likely on Lake Michigan today and tonight. These large waves could result in some minor lakeshore flooding and will result in life threatening swim conditions at Lake Michigan beaches.
