NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Snow Sleet Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Accumulating snow will develop across the area this evening, and
persist overnight. Snowfall amounts are expected to range from an
inch or less south of a line from Belvidere to Joliet to
Rensselaer Indiana line. Up to 1 to 2 inches is possible north
of that line by daybreak.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk in northwest Indiana
near Lake Michigan.
Elevated Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Snow will transition from a widespread snowfall to a lake effect
snowfall event. Lake effect snowfall will persist over
northwestern Indiana through Saturday afternoon. An additional 1
to 2 inches of lake effect snow is expected, mainly over northern
Porter County. Locally higher amounts are possible, especially for
the northeastern portions of Porter County east of Portage.
