WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Deepening low pressure is tracking across southeastern Wisconsin
and southern Lake Michigan this afternoon. This system is bringing
a mixed bag of precipitation to the area, with snow over northern
Illinois and rain over central Illinois and Indiana. A mix of rain
and snow is possible this afternoon along the Kankakee river
Valley. As the low passes to the east, strong winds will shift
from southwesterly to northwesterly, with gusts up to 30 mph
through the evening. A few higher gusts will be possible early
this evening. Precipitation will transition to a band of lake
effect snow overnight, with the band initially along the Illinois
shore of Lake Michigan and then transition to northwestern Indiana
overnight. Some snow accumulation is possible, with up to an inch
possible over far northeastern Illinois and 1 to 2 inches over
northwestern Indiana. Highest amounts should be closer to Lake
Michigan.

Elevated Snow Risk.

Limited Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Lake effect snow is expected to continue over northwestern Indiana
until around noon on Thursday. An additional 1 to 2 inches of snow
accumulations is expected with locally higher amounts possible.
