THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Snow Risk.
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Accumulating snow will spread across the area this afternoon and
continue into this evening. Storm total snowfall of 2 to 4 inches
is expected north of Interstate 80 with the lowest amounts near
the Wisconsin border. Storm total snowfall of 3 to 5 inches is
expected south of Interstate 80 with isolated higher amounts
possible.
Temperatures will fall into the low single digits by morning with
wind chills as low as 10 below to 15 below zero early Saturday
morning.
Ice jam flooding is possible along area rivers...including Momence
on the Kankakee River.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Sunday...
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
Monday through Thursday...
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Very cold conditions will continue through next week. Wind chills
20 below zero are possible Saturday and then wind chills 20 below
to 25 below zero are expected Sunday night through Tuesday morning.
Wind chills near 20 below are possible Thursday morning.
Lake effect snow may effect far northeast Illinois Sunday morning
before shifting east into northwest Indiana. Some accumulation is
possible near the lake but is most likely to occur in Porter
County in northwest Indiana Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening.
Another period of lake effect snow is possible Wednesday that may
affect northwest Indiana.
Ice jam flooding is possible along area rivers...including Momence
on the Kankakee River.
