This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive heat Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible area-wide this
afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms may peak in coverage during
the 5 to 8 PM timeframe. Severe weather is not expected, but
a few wind gusts to 50 mph will be possible with the strongest
storms into the evening hours. Locally heavy rainfall may lead to
instances of flooding due to slow storm motions of 10 mph or less.
In additional, cloud to ground lightning will pose a hazard with
any storms.
Additional isolated to scattered showers and storms will be
possible through the late evening hours.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Saturday through Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Showers and storms will again be possible on Friday. Strong and
gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning will be the main threats
with any activity. Afternoon heat indices will rise into the mid
and upper 90s on Friday.
A cold front will move into the region on Saturday bringing
another threat for showers and storms to the area. The highest
coverage is expected to be mainly south of I-80 through Saturday
afternoon.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 10 mph.
