This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive heat Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and storms will be possible today. Strong and
gusty winds and cloud to ground lightning will be the main threats
with any activity. A few wind gusts of 50 to near 60 mph will be
possible this afternoon with the strongest thunderstorms. Afternoon
heat indices will rise into the mid and upper 90s this afternoon.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk south.
Tuesday and Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A cold front will move into the region on Saturday, bringing
another threat for showers and storms to the area. The highest
coverage is expected to be mainly south of I-80 through Saturday
afternoon.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will likely not be needed. However, spotters
should relay any reports of high winds or measured heavy rainfall
totals or flooding.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east-northeast at 15 mph, but nearly
stationary at times.
