This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION...

An initial wave of showers and isolated thunderstorms, some with
brief heavy rainfall, will be possible this morning. Severe
weather is not anticipated this morning.

An additional area of showers and thunderstorms is expected to
develop late this afternoon and move eastward through the evening
hours. Some storms could become strong to severe with the main
threat from strong wind gusts. A tornado or two can't be ruled
out, mainly for locales west and south of a Pontiac to Ottawa to
Rockford line. The severe threat will decrease through the evening
hours, but strong and gusty winds will remain possible as
activity spreads eastward towards I-57.

While widespread heavy rainfall is not anticipated, thunderstorms
could produce locally heavier amounts which could lead to some
renewed river rises and additional flooding through the end of the
week.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Additional showers and thunderstorms will be possible through
Thursday. A few storms could be strong to marginally severe
Thursday afternoon for locales east of I-57 with a threat from
mainly strong wind gusts.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed late this afternoon and evening mainly
west and south of a Pontiac to Ottawa to Rockford line.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 40 to 45 mph.
