...Preliminary Storm Assessment Information from Monday's Storms...
The National Weather Service continues to assess photos, video,
radar and other data from the storms which crossed the area on
Monday. Active weather today has slowed this process but we are
focusing on three tornadoes and the latest information is below.
We are also assessing an area of sporadic wind related damage.
Additional information will be provided as details are finalized.
1. Dyer, Indiana
Brief EF-0 tornado
The tornado briefly touched down in a subdivision causing minor
damage to trim and fascia on several homes, bringing down several
tree branches and damaging a backyard shed. Time, duration and
path details will be available later.
2. Plattville, IL
Brief EF-0 tornado
A tornado briefly touched down near the intersection of Walker
Road and Ashley Road. Video shows that the tornado kicked up dust
in an open field with no damage reported. Time, duration and path
details will be available later but this tornado was likely on the
ground for less than one minute.
3. Paw Paw, IL
Brief EF-0 tornado
A tornado briefly touched down near Paw Paw. Damage has not been
reported with this touchdown. Time, duration and path details
will be available later but this tornado was likely on the ground
for less than one minute.
4. Northern Will across southern Cook Counties
We have received sporadic damage reports from this area and
continue to assess them.
