This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms are possible especially across the
western portion of the outlook area today. There is a chance
that some of these storms could produce damaging winds or large
hail. The area of concern is mainly south of I-90 and west of
I-55. The threat of tornadoes appears to be low. Tonight there
could be periods of heavy rain leading to localized flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Sunday...
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Tuesday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional thunderstorms will be possible Sunday. Some may have
the potential to produce strong wind gusts. After a brief break
on Monday, thunderstorms will be possible again Tuesday, though
the potential for severe weather remains uncertain at this time.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed this afternoon, mainly in western portions
of the outlook area.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east at 25 to 30 mph.
