This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to the size of quarters.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms will exit eastern Illinois and northwest Indiana
early this evening. Another round of showers and thunderstorms is
then expected across the area later tonight... moving into north
central IL after 9 pm. There is some threat of severe weather with
these storms... more so for areas south of I-80.
Heavy rain is also likely with this complex of storms in the late
evening into the overnight. Heavy rain on already saturated soils
may result in areas of flash flooding.
Otherwise, expect flooding to continue on portions of the Fox River,
East branch of the DuPage River, and the Illinois and Bigoting
Rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Flooding Risk.
Significant Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday and Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional periods of rain and thunderstorms are expected into
the upcoming weekend. Flooding will also continue on area rivers.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed late this evening especially for southern
portions of the area.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east at 30 to 40 mph.
