This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited hail risk...up to nickel size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 50 to 60 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue
to develop through the afternoon and into the evening. While some
thunderstorm activity is possible across most of the outlook
area, the focus of greatest coverage is expected to be gradually
suppressed from south of I-88 to south of I-80. Conditions are
not expected to be particularly favorable for widespread severe
weather, however a few of the storms could briefly become strong
to possibly severe with a very localized damaging wind or hail
threat.
Also, storms could be relatively slow moving and produce locally
heavy rainfall. Given recent rainfall and ongoing saturated ground
conditions, additional rainfall will likely go to rapid surface
runoff and could lead to localized flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Tuesday and Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed from late afternoon through early
evening.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east at 20-25 mph.
