DISCUSSION:

A few thunderstorms will be possible Thursday morning into early
afternoon. A few stronger storms are possible mainly across north
central Illinois with this morning activity. Thunderstorm chances
will increase late Thursday afternoon and into the evening,
especially north of Interstate 80, and then spread slowly south
through the night. Some of these storms could become strong to
severe with a threat for large hail and strong wind gusts. There
will also likely be a stripe of heavy rainfall in the area
Thursday night, and that could result in some flooding.

An unsettled pattern across the middle of the country will
continue this weekend through early next week bringing periodic
thunderstorm chances, and possibly a couple severe storm threats
for the local area.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
