This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 50 to 60 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
High Swim Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Thunderstorms tonight may pose a small risk of strong to locally
damaging winds from far southern LaSalle County southeast to
south central Iroquois County and points south. Of greater concern
is heavy rainfall which could produce localized flooding and river
rises. Winds will also be quite strong toward evening, gusting
between 30 and 40 mph from the east. These strong onshore winds
will cause dangerous waves and currents for anyone caught in Lake
Michigan and also may cause minor lakeshore flooding along the
Illinois shore.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk at night.
High Swim Risk in the morning.
Thursday...
Limited Flooding Risk mainly at night.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday...
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday through Monday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Thunderstorms are possible at times from mid week through Memorial
Day weekend, with heavy rainfall and localized flooding a
continued threat. In addition, strong to severe thunderstorms are
possible on Friday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed late this evening in far south and southwest
portions of the outlook area.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 45 to 60 mph.
