This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to half dollar size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Significant Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Scattered thunderstorms are likely this afternoon south of I-80.
The threat of severe storms will quickly increase through mid
afternoon in this location with large hail, damaging winds, and a
few tornadoes. The threat of severe storms will likely spread
north to remaining areas in northern Illinois and northwest
Indiana later this evening into the overnight hours. The threat of
damaging winds and tornadoes may lower this evening, however,
large hail will remain possible. Additionally, any storm will be
capable of producing torrential rainfall, which could result in
localized flash flooding tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Monday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Tuesday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

DISCUSSION:

While there will be many dry hours, there will also be periodic
bouts of showers and thunderstorms. Some potential does exist for
both severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall resulting in
flooding.

Spotters may be needed this afternoon and tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 30 to 40 mph.
