THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Flooding Risk.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Fog Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Periods of showers and some thunderstorms are likely tonight with
locally heavy rainfall likely, especially north of I-80. The heavy
rain will likely result in flooding, potentially significant.
Also, some locally dense fog is possible tonight, mainly near the
Wisconsin border.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday...
Significant Flooding Risk.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
Wednesday...
Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will produce
widespread heavy rainfall Tuesday over the entire outlook area and
south of I-80 into Tuesday night. Flooding, potentially quite
significant in some areas, is likely to result from the heavy
rain.

Rain could change to a several hour period of freezing rain before
ending Tuesday night. Some ice accumulation is possible, mainly
on elevated objects like trees, power lines, and untreated bridge
decks.

Many rivers will remain in flood through the week. Some rivers may
reach major flood stage.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
