THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Extreme Flooding Risk.
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk northwest Indiana this morning.
Limited Sleet Risk northwest Indiana this morning.
DISCUSSION:
Precipitation lingering behind a cold front which moved through
the area last evening has become a mix of rain, light freezing
rain and light sleet. This precipitation will affect mainly
areas for the Illinois Indiana state line eastward this morning,
with minor ice and sleet accumulation possible before mid
morning.
Many area rivers are in flood due to recent rain and snow melt.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Thursday...
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
Friday and Saturday...
Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A series of systems will bring the potential for periodic light
precipitation to the area into the weekend. Some of this may
fall as light freezing rain in some spots, primarily Thursday
night into early Friday, and late Friday night into early
Saturday. Daytime temperatures will rise above freezing,
limiting the threat of freezing precipitation during the day.
Most area rivers will remain in flood.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
