This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Snow Risk.
Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
Elevated Fog Risk this afternoon and evening.

DISCUSSION...

A quick hitting period of moderate to heavy snow is expected to
develop later this morning into the early afternoon hours.
Hourly snowfall rates of one inch or more for a short period are
possible, which could quickly accumulate on roadways leading to
hazardous travel conditions. Strong southeasterly winds gusting to
30 to 35 mph are expected as well, which will further reduce
visibility.

Any snow will quickly change to drizzle by the mid to late afternoon
with above freezing temperatures. Fog is then expected to develop
which could become briefly dense early this evening in spots.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Wednesday...
Limited Snow Risk.
Thursday night and Friday Morning...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION...

A period of accumulating snow is possible on Wednesday and
Wednesday night, potentially followed by bitterly cold wind
chills Thursday night into Friday.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
