This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Ice accumulation Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION...
There is a chance of freezing drizzle after midnight along and
northwest of a Mendota to Waukegan line. If freezing drizzle
occurs, slick spots will be possible on some roads.
Strong northerly winds will build waves on southern Lake Michigan,
likely exacerbating lakeshore flooding impacts due to the near
record high lake levels.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesday...
Limited Ice Accumulation Risk in the morning.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
Wednesday and Thursday...
Elevated Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Patchy freezing drizzle will be possible Tuesday morning in
portions of northern Illinois mainly west of Chicago.
Strong northerly winds and large waves will continue to exacerbate
lakeshore flooding impacts along the Lake Michigan shore through
Tuesday night.
There is an increasing likelihood of a plowable accumulating
snowfall for most if not the entire area late in the day Wednesday
into Thursday. The Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes
could be impacted.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
