This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday afternoon and overnight...
Elevated Snow Risk.
Thursday...
Elevated Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk, mainly NW Indiana shoreline.
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk late night.
Friday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk in the morning.

DISCUSSION:

A period of accumulating snowfall of light to moderate amounts is
becoming more likely across the region Wednesday afternoon
through Thursday. Impacts to the commute are likely for at least
portions of the area Wednesday evening and then possible area
wide Thursday morning. Lake effect snow may continue through
later Thursday afternoon and evening across portions of northwest
Indiana. Bitterly cold temperatures are expected late Thursday
night into Friday morning, with sub-zero low temperatures across
much of northern Illinois and minimum wind chill values of 10 to
20 below zero.

Strong northerly winds will build waves on Thursday into Thursday
night, likely causing lakeshore flooding and exacerbating beach
erosion, especially for the northwest Indiana shoreline.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
