This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Strong north to northeast winds will build high waves along the
Lake Michigan shoreline of northeast Illinois and northwest
Indiana, exacerbating lakeshore flooding impacts due to the near
record high lake levels.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday and Thursday...
Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There is an increasing likelihood of a plowable accumulating
snowfall for most of the area Wednesday afternoon through Thursday.
There is the potential for snow to begin as early as the Wednesday
evening commute. The heaviest snowfall rates, possibly in excess
of one half inch per hour, will likely occur Wednesday evening or
Wednesday night, but lighter snow will linger into the Thursday
morning commute. There is still uncertainty with the highest snow
axis, but at this time the heaviest snow is favored along and
southeast of line from Mendota to Elgin to Waukegan.

Additional light snow with minor snow accumulation is possible
Thursday night into early Friday morning near the lake.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
