This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Limited flooding risk this morning.
DISCUSSION...
An area of thunderstorms south of Interstate 88, will exit the area to the
east by early to mid morning. A cold front will shift south today and result
in additional thunderstorms this afternoon. Some of these could be become
severe, with large hail and damaging winds the main hazards. The most likely
area will be along and south of Interstate 80, possibly farther south.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Saturday night through Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed this afternoon and early evening, mainly south of
the Chicago area.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east at 35 to 40 mph.
