Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon along a lake

low for this development.
A line of thunderstorms, currently moving through Iowa, will
likely move into northern Illinois this mid to late afternoon
into early evening. These storms are expected to intensify this
afternoon, with strong to severe storms appearing possible. At
this time, the highest threat will be across areas north of I-80.
However, there is some potential for these storms to move further
south than currently forecast.
Additional storms are possible late tonight into early Friday
morning. There remains low confidence regarding how strong
this activity will be and far south into Illinois it will move,
but a few stronger storms will at least be possible.

Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

develop...they may become strong to severe and produce locally
heavy rain.

through the middle of next week with high temperatures in the
upper 80s to lower 90s and afternoon heat index values in the
middle to upper 90s.
