overnight, especially near Lake Michigan.
High Swim Risk late this evening and overnight.

and Indiana lakeshore.

DISCUSSION...

The risk for scattered thunderstorms will continue through mid
evening. Severe weather is not expected, but gusty winds, small
hail and locally heavy rainfall will be possible with the
strongest storms.

Strong and gusty north to northwest winds will overspread the
region late tonight. High wave action will result in the
development of dangerous swimming conditions and lakeshore
flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk for Cook and Indiana lakeshore.
High Swim Risk.
Friday...

Sunday through Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Strong and gusty northerly winds will continue through Thursday
afternoon. As a result of the gusty winds, highs waves and strong
rip currents are expected to continue to create dangerous
swimming conditions. In addition, the high waves and already
very high lake levels will continue to cause lakeshore flooding.
Conditions will improve quickly late Thursday afternoon into the
evening as winds decrease.

Additional thunderstorm chances are possible Friday night and into
next week. Some potential for locally heavy rainfall and strong
thunderstorms exists this weekend.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 20 to 25 mph.
