This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited hail risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive heat Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Thunderstorms are likely over northern Illinois and northwestern
Indiana this afternoon. Strong to severe thunderstorms will be
possible with this activity, with strong winds gusts and hail
being the primary threats. However, very heavy rainfall will also
accompany these storms, and may lead to localized flash flooding
if multiple storms move over the same area. Currently it appears
the best timing for these storms will be from around 1 to 4 PM for
areas north of Interstate 80, and 3 to 7 pm for areas south of
Interstate 80.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Thursday and Friday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There will be daily chances for showers and thunderstorms much of
next week as the area remains in a active weather pattern. Some
strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible at times. Large
hail, damaging winds and very heavy rainfall will all be possible
with the strongest storms.

Spotters may be needed this afternoon.

Moving toward the southeast around 30 mph.
