Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Blowing and Drifting Snow Risk.
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Strong westerly winds will continue to cause near-ground blizzard
conditions in rural and open areas of northern Illinois,
especially this morning.

Dangerously cold wind chills are also expected today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

Monday and Tuesday...
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Wednesday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Friday and Saturday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Dangerouly cold wind chills will continue through at least
Wednesday morning, and possibly return again by Friday and
Saturday.

River ice is expected to rapidly build up on area rivers this week
as a much colder arctic air mass moves into the area. This will
bring a threat for localized ice jam related flooding on area
rivers.
